The engineering roots of VIKON trace back to 1997, when our founding engineering team embarked on an ambitious mission — to develop China’s first electric treadmill.
At a time when advanced fitness equipment technology was almost entirely dependent on imports, our founders believed that China could build world-class performance equipment through independent engineering innovation.
This conviction led to years of deep research into:
· Motor drive and speed control systems
· Mechanical transmission structures
· Electronic control architectures
· Industrial reliability and safety engineering
In 2003, this engineering journey culminated in another historic breakthrough: the successful development and mass production of China’s first commercial motorised treadmill, officially launching the country’s modern commercial fitness equipment industry.
From the very beginning, engineering excellence — not short-term commercial gain — became the core principle of our organisation.
